Details
While working with just one tab (or no tab, since tabs are hidden when only one
page is loaded), opening a bookmark folder in tabs replaces the one page you
were looking at. The preference in Advanded -> Tabbed Browsing only works when
more then one tab is currently open and opening a group does not replace tabs.
This works on Win2000 (nightly) and Linux x86 (nightly).

I have changed the summary to emphasize that the single tab is *always*
replaced, irrespective of the preference setting.
Summary: With only one tab open, opening a bookmark folder as tabs overwrites the one tab → With only one tab open, opening a bookmark folder as tabs always overwrites the one tab
