User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0
Steps to reproduce:
Version 91.11.0 on Win11 professional with full Admin rights:
Thunderbird is sending out return receipts for incoming emails that I open, without my knowledge or consent. Preferences are set to NEVER SEND A RETURN RECEIPT.
Global Account preferences are also set to NEVER SEND A RETURN RECEIPT.
Actual results:
Thunderbird is sending out read receipts for incoming emails that I open without my knowledge or consent.
Expected results:
Thunderbird should NOT have sent a return receipt, period.
The consequence is a massive increase in unwanted junk mail.

Severity S2. Couldn't figure out how to add that to the bug once submitted.

"It's a feature." (not kidding!)
These are server side generated when you access the mails on their servers. Nothing we can do about it.
