Seems like bug 1684921 2.0?
Using 108.0b23.
STR
- Click on the Inbox for one of your accounts
- Click on one of the column separators between the From, Subject, Date, etc. so that the mouse cursor changes to the combined left-to-right cursor
- With the mouse cursor changed to the combined left-to-right cursor, left click and hold down to mouse button to drag the column separator left and right.
Actual results:
When I grab and hold the column separator between name and subject columns (or others), more than one column separator moves
Expected results:
When I grab and hold the column separator between name and subject columns (or others), only one column separator should move

Click between From and Date, if I move date far enough to the right, then the left side of From eventually moves to the left.

This is still present in 113.0b4. I only have From, Date, Attachments, Read Status and Spam columns showing.

This is expected behavior. The column sizes are percentages of the whole available width. When one item is increased in size, it leaves less room for the other columns, so the other columns also resize. When a column is made smaller, it means there is more room for the other columns, so those increase in size.

For the most part, this is expected behavior. I just tested this on macOS.
I did notice that if you try make the column very small beyond what is permitted, it can visually make the previous column larger than expected. Moving the right-most column separator to the right in a LTR orientation does visually make it look like the column to the left of the separator will get bigger. However, once the mouse is released, the earlier column snaps back into its earlier position. A similar thing happens for an interior column.
