1815191 - After sending message, dialog box 'copying message to sent folder" is too small for French translation, and `Cancel` button cut off

Steps to reproduce:

Install TB in FRENCH version.
compose a message (to anyone, doesn't matter)
send it
watch the popup windows saying :
"sending message" (in french).
Then watch the popup window switching to the message :
"copying message to sent folder".
In french, it goes like
"Copie du message vers le dossier Messages en[cropped text]"

Here is the bug : as the message is cropped, because the popup window doesn't stretch, the "Abort" button is also cropped.

Actual results:

Text in the popup window is cropped.
Button "abort" is cropped.

Expected results:

the popup window after sending a message should strech to the text, as the associated "abort" button stretch to align on right to the text... So both shouldn't be cropped.

Can localizers change the size of this dialog? Or TB should handle this somehow?

It looks that it's hard-coded here https://searchfox.org/comm-central/source/mailnews/compose/content/sendProgress.xhtml#13 and can't be set by the localizers.

Thanks! Helpful insight. Not really hard-coded as we have style="min-width:56ch;". This line isn't in 102, as it was added by bug 1790619 with an intention of fixing the very problem we have here. Incidentally, the patch has r=Paenglab :-)

Will request uplift, this is important basic functionality.

Loic, are you able to test on TB beta if our fix works for French as expected?

...I THINK the correction is just to have modified the FRENCH TEXT from "Copie du message vers le dossier Message envoyé" (loooooong text) to "Copie du message vers le dossier Envoyés" (shorter text)

It's more a workaround than a fix ?!

Well, probably not - at least we can't tell from your screenshot, because you've changed the conditions:

attachment 9316222 [details]: Copie du message vers le dossier Envoyés (shorter string works on 110.0b3, i.e. longer string may still fail).

I think if you temporarily switch your ≡ > Account Settings > YourAccount > Copies & Folders > Place a copy in: Sent Folder on: to a custom folder with a longer name, you'll still see the failure. That's what I tested in Bug 1790619 Comment 12, see screenshot attachment 9316213 [details].

Btw, you can use bug 123 and attachment 123 [details] syntax for auto-linkification here.
