User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/16.3 Safari/605.1.15

Steps to reproduce:

Click on Write, type a message, click on Spelling.

Actual results:

Spelling popup pops up, but contains nothing.

Expected results:

What should happen? Spelling should check the spelling that's what should happen... Always worked until this version.

what the hlel si worng with 102.7.2 thunderbird on MACOS Big Sur 11.7.3

Look at the attached image. Spellchecker (of this message with purrposlesslee mispeeliings is broke BIG TIME!

Clicking on Spelling the image shows what I get! Thunderbird is telling me I have the lastest version.

AND!! You say this new logging in with a Firefox Account makes things easier that BS! Finding where to file a Thunderbird bug report was anything but easy... And after all the BS of creating an account at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/ I have to go back to where I started... Which was https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi and login.

THEN!!! I can't use my newly created Firefox Account to login in to Bugzilla@Mozilla I have to use the account and password that I always had there!!! WTF! What a bunch of BS.

You guys have always made things more difficult then they need to be even in your apps touting it's better. Not. And just so you know I retired from IT after over 40 years and started contributing in CPM/S-100 sytems and have software in Open Source distributions for years...

It looks like you don't have any dictionary installed? If you had one it would be shown there next by "Language:" and the link.

Yes that appears to be the problem. What happened to the dictionary I had installed before the upgrade to 102.7.2? Previous upgrades never removed the dictionary, why did this one?

Which locale are you using?
I haven't heard about other reports for this.

...and "just so you know", Mr. Curt Blank, we won't tolerate you shouting at us (mostly for issues beyond Thunderbird's control), because it violates the rules of this platform.

I'm closing this bug. It's technically invalid because your spell checker is working correctly. Just install the missing dictionary, and don't worry about the rest if you can't control your language and lack any appreciation for our work which has gone into this software which you are using for free.
