When viewing a feed message we (apparently) have a settings menu under Message | When Opening Feed Messages | Toggle Web Page and Summary in Message Pane.
This doesn't work anymore. Double click on a feed message opens it in a tab instead of toggling the view like it used to do.

Now I have no idea why a setting such as this is in the menus. It "should" just be in the global settings. Or we could just kill this off. It seems like a very arcane feature....

But this is a handy function when you have set summary as default and want to read the message you need to only double click it.

It seems the setting "Show the article summary instead of loading the web page" doesn't work any more.

Confirming (sort of) for Daily 113.0a1 (2023-03-26) (64-bit), Win10.

STR

• Have a Blogs & News Feeds account set up, and subscribe to a feed (e.g. https://blog.thunderbird.net/feed/, but I'm not sure if that's a suitable URL for testing this, see below).
• Select a feed message
• From Message menu, choose When Opening Feed Messages submenu, select one of the the following options:
  • Open as Web Page
  • Open as Summary
  • Toggle Web Page and Summary in Message Pane
• Double-click on a feed message (I guess)

Actual Result

• Doesn't change anything for me (but I don't know what to expect either)

Expected

• Something along what those those options say (Summary/Web Page/Toggle), not sure.

Not sure if this is still working in TB 102, choosing Open as Summary does not change anything for me in the preview or when double-clicking a feed message from TB blog on TB 102.9.0 (64-bit), Win10. Or maybe it needs special feed URLs which offer summaries?

It has to be checked in menu on Toggle Web Page and Summary in Message Pane to make the toggling work. The pref how to view the feed can be set in the Subscribe dialog.

This works still on the last Daily before Supernova.
