Removing a button from the Unified toolbar target in the customization dialog is a bit difficult and should be simplified - just dragging it off the toolbar should suffice to remove it, and we should take care of the rest automatically (putting the button back into the right section of the button stock where it belongs).
STR
- Right-click on Unified Toolbar > Customize…
- Click on
Write
button [sic], pressEnter
to add to toolbar - Drag it off the toolbar and drop it just below the toolbar with an intention of removing it
Actual result
- Dropping the button just below the toolbar won't remove it - jumps back to the toolbar.
- Dropping the button with the other buttons of
Available for Mail Space only
will not remove it either - jumps back to toolbar - what!? - Removing the button from the toolbar is pretty difficult (especially for new users), as we expect them to put it back into the right section where it came from. Users may not remember to which section the button belongs, then they can get confused why they cannot drop it in the
Available for Mail Space
section, but need to drag it all the way back into theAvailable for all Spaces
section. This makes removing buttons unnecessarily clumsy for no apparent reason.
Expected result
- Kindly simplify removing buttons from the toolbar:
- Dragging and dropping a button anywhere outside the toolbar should remove it and put it back into the right button stock section automatically
- As keyboard equivalent, pressing
Enter
on a selected button from the toolbar should also remove it and sort it back into stock.
