Improve tab indexes and consider use of arrow keys to navigate the quick filter buttons. Similarly as the message header buttons or spacesToolbar .

This would be an awesome ux-efficiency improvement for keyboard users. Can't wait to see this! There's way too many tab stops atm, also due to the message list equivalent of what's bug 1783172 for the address book (unnecessary tab stops on each and every column header).
Maybe possible to implement some re-usable model for some of these similar layouts?

Please, Do we also have a similar issue for the main toolbar with actions such as check for new messages, write a message, add label ... etc?

Hi Peter, yes, we are focusing on making improvements in other places. Bug 1836129 will help develop an easier way to apply this to different places.
