User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/112.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
View > Layouts enabled: Classic View, Message View, Folder View.
In top left corner above Folder pane, there is a 'get messages' button.
Click on 'get messages' button.
Actual results:
This 'get messages' button lacks the ability to check all email accounts in the Folder pane; It only checks for new messages on the highlighted account in the Folder pane.
In order to check all email accounts listed in the Folder pane, TB must be closed and restarted.
Expected results:
The 'get messages' button should check for new emails across all accounts, listed in the Folder pane.

Might be a duplicate of bug 1817915, but we should double-check reporter's claim here that just clicking Get messages
button won't get messages for all accounts, which would be a different bug then. On Daily 114.0a1 (2023-04-17) (64-bit), Win10, this won't add anything to activity manager, nor anything to error console.

Thanks Scabuster. As explained in Bug 1828348 Comment 2, in the future kindly do not dump the full troubleshooting info into a bug comment. You may use Attach New File
button above comment 0 instead.
Wayne, do you think we'll need to preserve any troubleshooting info from comment 0? See my comment 1 for what we still need to check here.
Maybe sanitize or move to attachment according to your judgement?

It should only be for the one account. There's an old bug about allowing it to be global, but there are many complications due to different account types, different logged in status esp. wrt when passwords are saved vs not saved etc.

I understand there would be complications for some users due to their particular setups as Magnus stated above.
In my setup however, I like to check refresh all accounts frequently and not just at the set timed intervals. For me, it doesn't make sense to not have this feature. I use this to check for incoming messages which are pertinent to a current phone call, and restarting TB seems excessive. I think this would be a very common use in business.
Would someone kindly remove my inline troubleshooting data, I apologize for the clutter. Thank you.

Absolutely, and we all agree.
- I assume that bug 1817915 will restore the "Get All new messages" action for all accounts in the dropdown/context menu of the iconic
Get Messages
button. I believe that's what you have used before. - Magnus just noted that the current iconic button behaves no different than in older versions, where clicking the main button part will only get messages for the currently selected account.
- In the long run, there's a plan to make "Get All new messages" the default action of the button (and/or allow user customization), Bug 301228, which, as Magnus pointed out, is non-trivial.
Would someone kindly remove my inline troubleshooting data, I apologize for the clutter. Thank you.
No problem. I've asked Wayne to assist with that on affected bugs.

Btw, there's also Shift+F5
keyboard shortcut (on Windows, haven't check others) which should work to get all messages from all accounts.
