Steps to reproduce:
View a usenet newsgroup, change the View option dropdown to Unread from All. So far, so good.
Actual results:
That works, but when I move the focus to another folder and then return to the original folder / newsgroup, the View option has reset itself to All. This happens every time.
Expected results:
The View option for the folder should have remained at Unread as set by me. This worked in previous public versions of TB up to 102.
This is for User-Agent: Mozilla Thunderbird version 115

I'm hoping that someone is going to pick this one up, because the View dropdown value not sticking for a given folder is really unacceptable. The value has "stuck" through years of previous versions.

Always. Return to any folder (Mail or News) where I've previously changed the View drop-down from All to Unread, and the View value has returned to All. Every single time. For email folders I don't really care as I always want to see all emails, but in Usenet groups I generally only want to see new posts. This is the first version of Thunderbird in which I have ever experienced this problem (from v3 onwards!). Before, the View setting was retained per folder/news group.

NOTE This behaviour also happens with all of my few add-ons disabled.

Does this reproduce for other account types, mail specifically?

I've just tried it for mail folders and yes it does. Both accounts I tried this on are IMAP - one Gmail, one Live/Hotmail.
