Steps to reproduce:
I received a new email that was placed by a filter in a subfolder B of a folder A. The subfolder B was hidden.
Actual results:
The new message indicator icon of folder A didn't light up. If I unfold the folder A, I can see there is 1 new message in subfolder B. When I fold the folder A again, the indicator is propagated and I can see the new message.
Expected results:
The indicator should propagate at the reception of the message, without me needing to unfold and fold the folder A.
This bug is apparently 15 years old, but they were marked as closed:

Related, not closed - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483027.
Also see bug 1844534. Was this fixed by that bug?
I can't mark as duplicate because I "need permission to comment on this closed bug"...
You can make this bug a duplicate of bug 1844534.
Well I am apparently not allowed to do that. If I try (either at the bottom of the page or at the top), it says
You tried to change the Comment field , but only a user with the required permissions may change that field.
Additonal information:
You need permission to comment on this closed bug.
But you are the reporter of this bug, and the bug isn't closed. You can't modify bug 1844534.
I don't know what I am doing wrong but I don't think I try to modify bug 1844534. I just try to mark as duplicate the current bug report.

Hmm, at the bottom of the page, below the last comment, there should be a button to close the bug as duplicate, isn't there?

Yes, there is a button but it displays the same error message...

So you can't resolve a bug you filed as duplicate any more? That's weird.

Well, I am as surprised as you. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't see what.
