User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/116.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a hierarchy of folders not in the Inbox and add emails to the top level and subfolders.
- Delete some of the emails in the subfolders.
- With the Inbox selected, click on File, Compact Folders, you get 'Done compacting (approx.0 kB saved).'
- Select the subfolder from where the emails were deleted and click on File, Compact folders. It will now compact, e.g. Done compacting (approv. 150kB saved).
Also - Delete emails from one of the other subfolders
- Select the parent folder, right click and select Compact, you get the message 'Done compacting (approx.0 kB saved).'
- Select the subfolder from where the emails were deleted, right click and select Compact'. It will now compact, e.g. Done compacting (approv. 150kB saved).
Actual results:
File, Compact Folders does not compact all the folders in your account, which is used to before v115. It only compacted the folder selected. Compacting is only working on the folder selected.
Expected results:
File, Compact folders should compact all the folders in your account.
Compacting a folder should also compact all its sub-folders.
Note that this may be related to bug 1841147 where unread email notifications are not being propogated to parent folders
