Steps to reproduce:

(This is on Windows 11). I use news.gmane.io to read newsgroups. I read the messages in gmane.comp.lang.go.general.

Actual results:

I see the newgroup topics displayed as shown in the attachment to this bug report. This is with the View->Threads->Unread option. Selecting View->Threads->Expand All Threads doesn't do anything.

If I double-click on a subject line I see a bunch of tabs opened, one for each message in the thread. I doubt this is what's supposed to happen.

Expected results:

I should see the message in normal message tree format. Sometimes I do, but I'm not sure when it works and when it doesn't work. For example, consider the what you see using the Google groups web interface at https://groups.google.com/g/golang-nuts/c/_onLLh3RUO8. This is what the attachment is displaying.

The fact that View->Threads->Expand All Threads doesn't do anything is probably important.

Yes, double-clicking on a collapsed thread now operates on the entire thread opening all the messages. See bug 1826633. Workaround: Set pref mail.operate_on_msgs_in_collapsed_threads to false.

I hope this is considered as a regression, since everything worked fine before 115.

No, bug 1826633 was closed as WONTFIX, so the old behaviour won't be restored.
