Steps to reproduce:
When I wish to expand the subject column in my message list I often have difficulty. I try to move columns to the right. Functionality is quirky, unexpected, and not fluid. See attached video. Version 118.0b4 (64-bit)

I found if I make the Thunderbird window very wide expanding all columns simultaneously, move the column divider of the column I want to expand, then make the Thunderbird window smaller again, I can successfully resize the column I want to make bigger. But this requires me to go through contortions for something that should be very easy.
