Steps to reproduce:

I applied for tester of the pre-release. My application is pending approval. So I cannot append test results. This is the only viable other option to be able to inform.

I Installed the 118.0b5 pre-release and tested the behaviour of mails included in closed bug 1840943.

Actual results:

I Observed that, when chaging quickly from mail to mail. sometimes an email would display without an header. This always was accompanied by the same messages as mentionend in bug 1841539. This bug was closed as being a duplicate of bug 1840943 (which was also closed). The bug 1841539 seems not to be solved yet.

Expected results:

Header should display - no error messages should appaer in log.

Thanks very much for the info.

In that case you are probably seeing Bug 1840943 Message headers missing in message preview for some messages (rarely, and random). Displays in message list.

Sadly enough, it doesn't.
What I observe is,

• Click a large email wich an attachment
• immediately click the next email, which is small and does not contain an attachment.
• and go back to the previous large email.

It sometimes then happens that in de messagelist the icon for attachment disappears and the header in the previewpane is blank, and no attachments are shown. This happens then after ca 0.5 second after selecting the email, exactly when te body is rendered.
When opening such an email without icon and header in a new tab/window, the header and attachments reappear instantaneously, also in the message list.

I have also seen the missing header when selecting a small message without attachment. Opening that message in a new window: header is shown in the new window; the preview pane is not repainted.

The moste reliable action in this case is:

• in the message list, Select email 1
• select the next one (arrow down), email 2 , and immediately
• select email 1 again (arrow up).

After going to 2 and returning to 1 immediately, the header is still missing. If, however, I let email 2 display and wait a second, then returning to 1, the header is displayed.

It is not really aanoying as when one select an email without switching fast, the display is OK.

With 121, header are always shown, irrespective of switching emails repeatedly. I believe this bug can be closed.
