Steps to reproduce:
Working with long discussions has become a pain in thunderbird-115
- traditional view of threads ("cards" halves number of messages displayed in the list)
- Collapse all threads to see overview of recent topics
- Open some thread
- Select some message (it maybe e.g. 150th of >500 in this thread)
- Switch to another folder
- Back to original folder
Actual results:
Summary of thread is displayed, perhaps causing massive fetching of messages (in the case of NNTP server and a thread started several days or weeks ago).
It is not always easy what particular message was open before.
Expected results:
The message that was displayed before switching to another folder is displayed again as it worked in Thunderbird-102 and earlier.
It was annoying when earlier version of thunderbird were resetting scrolling position in long messages on switching of tabs, but new symptoms of amnesia in respect to selected messages are really terrible.
In earlier versions of thunderbird last viewed thread was displayed opened after switching of folders. Other threads became collapsed. Thunderbird-115 collapses even current thread causing lost of context.
That's being worked on in bug 1807063.
