Steps to reproduce:

Sort by date
Group by Sorting (date)

Actual results:

Every time I close all threads using alt + \ and switch to a different folder, email account or close TB, all threads expand again.

Expected results:

The threads should remain collapsed until I expand them again. This happened since the new big update where a lot of things changed (115 I guess? I didn't track the version when it changed).

This is being worked on in bug 1807063.
