User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Whenever I copy text in mozilla browser, it pastes in anastasia font (set as default somehow) in microsoft word or clarisworks. Problem does not occur when using microsoft explorer. This problem appeared after downloading mozilla 5.0 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to site with text 2. copy text 3. paste in word or claris Actual Results: anastasia font appears Expected Results: helvetica or like font appears
I think this is confirmed using FizzillaMach/2003021903. 1. Copy the first paragraph of comment 0 2. View the Clipboard (Finder/Edit/View Cliboard) 3. Observe that the text is "Styled Text", but isn't in the same font face as comment 0. Then, when pasting into Word or TextEdit, the text is in some other font, so it's as though there's *bad* style data on the Clipboard along with the text.

In Mach-O 20030212 I don't see any erroneous styling when pasting to OS X apps, but it often happens when pasting into Classic apps. See my analysis in the related but distinct bug 194389. Do any of you see bad styling in OS X pastes?
Yes, see comment 1. In that comment, I'm referring to Word and TextEdit, both OS X Apps.
Weird. Copying to TextEdit works fine for me. Have you retested since the switch from CFM to Mach-O?
Summary: Mozilla doesn't preserve styles correctly copying text to the Clipboard → Mozilla adds incorrect font styles copying text to Clipboard
Note: this is separate from bug 178523, which asks for fully-formatted rich text copying like MSIE5.

I bet this bug is fixed on trunk with the move to Cocoa widgets. Can someone who's seen this test and see if it indeed works?
