1869136 - (Supernova: Cards w/ 3-panes) Email Thread in Message List, new unrelated email will "join" wrong thread - sometimes until clicked, sometimes until TB restarted

Steps to reproduce:

Received emails, while having the 3-pane cards-based view, and threading enabled. I've also raised bug 1860709 months ago now about a double-up issue (separately).

Actual results:

Sometimes, emails will drop into the wrong chain. So there can be many emails under a chain, or just a few, and then an email from someone unrelated to that chain whatsoever arrives, and it will nest itself under the wrong chain, until clicked. Then the message changes to another message, and Thunderbird needs a restart to purge its demons.

Expected results:

The new email should be threaded/organised into the correct email chain/thread, and clicking emails should open the clicked email, rather than lead to an immediate refresh of the message changing to another on-click. Happy to send debug logs etc.
