What is a non existant account? Is the server no longer valid?
Make sure checking of mail every x minutes (and at startup) isn't active for the account.
LOL Obviously i've disabled the options to check for email at startup and every x minutes! :)
A non existant account is when you use an email for years then the company close de domain is closed to so the account email disappear since the server is not existant :) but you need to keep email for at least 10 years for legislation. In 122.0b2 It respect the flag not selected, now in 122.0b3 It ask continously to try to connect to email server...
As you see options are all unselected so why it try to connect to the server?

Is a message from the account open in a tab perhaps?
Neither no message opened on tabs, just after some seconds it keep asking for password only for that 3 accounts I've disabled...
You can simply try yourself just change a pasword on one of your email account then disable the flags then close and reopen thunderbirth then it will ask for password since it don't obey the flags :)

I have many accounts I don't check for new, some of which don't have the password saved. I haven't had tb ask for password for any those.

Probably not. Can you check with an older version? (Start with --allow-downgrade)

Ok just reverted back to 122.0b2 and work as expected!
So I stay with this version until I find a new one in the future that don't have this bug too...
Skipping 122.0b3 ...Waiting the release of 122.0b4 to test for...

I don't seem to reproduce this. Some piece of the puzzle is missing. Does it depend on which view you're in?
And it's not due to some add-on? Try Help | Troubleshoot mode?

Well now I'm on 122.0b4 and is working fine too ...next time I'll try Troubleshoot mode...
I've no extensions enabled (some are installed :) but not supported so are disabled by thunderbirth itself)

Are you using the send-later add-on? That was apparently the cause of bug 1874095.
