User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:126.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/126.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create an appointment with very long description. Such appointments may be created e.g. by MS Teams / MS Outlook, and may contain a very verbose description of how to joint a meeting and even whole Email threads.

  2. Do something that causes an "item changed on server" dialog. It is not clear what I did to cause it, possibly related to snoozing events and/or using Google Calendar as a backend, but it is recurring.

Actual results:

The modal dialog should be shown, giving the option which version to use going forward. If the description is long, it should be either scrollable or truncated.

Expected results:

The modal dialog is shown, but the buttons are outside the visible screen area.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This was observed on OpenSuse 15.3, using XFCE, thunderbird installed from the webpage on a 1920x1080 screen resolution.

When the message contains only the meeting invitation without a message history, the buttons become accessible using a 1920x1200 resolution.

POSSIBLE WORKAROUND

On Linux systems, it is often possible to drag windows arbitrarily holding the Alt-key and dragging with the mouse on any pixel of the window.

This is not an option however if the used window manager does not support this feature, e.g. when using MS Windows. It may also be disabled due to interfering with the normal operation of some programs (e.g. drag and drop of rows/columns in LibreOffice Calc).

Under XFCE in particular, it can be solved by choosing another key for dragging or enabling in temporarily under "Window Manager Tweaks > Accessibility". But for that, the user has to know about this feature existing in the first place.

Updated screenshot for better emphasis of screen boundaries.
