User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/124.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

  1. With my messages set to open in tabs, rather than windows, I opened a message, then moved its folder.
  2. I reselected the message tab to verify that the message was still visible; it was.
  3. I exited Thunderbird and restarted it.

I tested this in Thunderbird 115.10.2 on Manjaro Xfce.

Actual results:

When I found the tab that the message had been displayed in, both the tab's title and contents were blank. Moving the folder back and exiting and restarting Thunderbird didn't fix the message tab. I consider this to be a serious bug, because it results in the loss of information, at least for users who keep messages open because they want to respond to them later.

Expected results:

The message tab should not be affected by moving its folder, even after the program is restarted.

STR : just opening a message in a tab and moving it in another folder make Tb unable to reload the message in that tab. No need to move en entire folder.

I confirm this bug on TB 128.0a1 build 20240530105708

To me, it could be related to Mork db by folder and could be fixed by bug 1572000
