What's the plan to get this fixed?

Rob earlier said, he wants to try an m-c patch, but then learned it doesn't work.

Do we already understand what needs to be done, or do we need someone to research?

This line needs to be changed:

// MOZ_APP_VENDOR is empty on Thunderbird.
let vendor = AppConstants.MOZ_APP_NAME == "thunderbird" ? "" : "Mozilla";

It can be set to "Mozilla".

Same line is in test_select_backgroundtasks_not_ephemeral_exists.js that needs changing.
