Steps to reproduce:

Windows 11 in dark mode on MS surface pro. open browser after update

Actual results:

backgrounds are dark but text boxes and mouse hover highlight boxes are all white with white lettering. Occures on all sites even after disabling any extension or add-on that handles dark mode.
If I disable dark mode on windows 11 settings, then issue goes away. Had to turn it off to even see and fill out this form

Expected results:

Previous version handled dark mode fine in the browser with not issue like this. backgrounds should be dark and text boxes and hover point should be dark grey and black font for text.

Hm, that is odd. Could you try launching with a fresh profile on Surface Pro?
Creating a new profile/picking a default profile and launching that in a new window should determine if there's some kind profile-specific issue.

Uploading the about:support page could help track this down as well.

Hm, that is odd. Could you try launching with a fresh profile on Surface Pro?
Creating a new profile/picking a default profile and launching that in a new window should determine if there's some kind profile-specific issue.

Uploading the about:support page could help track this down as well.

Created a test profile and launched as that profile and same issue. text boxes are white backgrounds and white text. Now, if I click restart with addons disabled, I get a functional dark mode web page without the anomaly. Going to test from my main profile and disable all addons and see if that removes the anomaly. about:support is loaded in a new comment.

Ok, so that button launches in safe mode, which also enables the software renderer.
Given that a new profile wouldn't have any add-ons, I suspect that this is a WebRender issue. I also noticed that you have a ARM 64-bit based OS, specifically with Qualcomm Adreno GPU.

I've linked some bugs that I suspect may point to the same issue. Bug 1898164 is of interest - Specifically the fact that it happened when upgrading from 126 to 127.
Are you able to use mozregression as in bug 1898164 comment 6 (There's a GUI tool available if working on command prompt is not an option)? That'd be immensely helpful for us. Thanks!

Side note, using those gfx settings slows down HD video playback in the browser and also Spikes all CPU cores to 100% when playing a video. So this is really not an optimal work around for now.

Right, that sort of performance degradation is expected -- the gfx.webrender.software preference activates a software emulation backend for our normally-GPU-based graphics pipeline (running the graphics stack entirely on your CPU cores instead of using the GPU). It's not ideal, but it's meant to have better correctness guarantees as a workaround for hardware/driver-specific issues.

In the meantime, stay tuned; we've got some recent forward momentum on related bug 1897444.
