I can't reproduce in Nightly (132.0a1 2024-09-05) or release (129.0.2 -- side note, not sure why play store's not giving me v130 yet) on my Pixel 6a, for what it's worth, using default browser settings.

Calin: is this still reproducible for you?

This is likely related to:

  • bug 1912854 [which I can reproduce] since both bugs involve fixed-positioned elements in a viewport whose size is changing with the dynamic toolbar).
  • bug 1884807 (which landed 9 days ago and increases the size of the viewport when the keyboard appears - which might make this bug more or less likely to repro).
Flags: needinfo?(ctanase)

The button is no longer sticky on the latest Nightly but it jumps when scrolling to the bottom of the page. On Release the button is still sticky but not misaligned.

Tested on:
Operating system: OnePlus 6 A6000 (Android 11)
Browser/Version: Firefox Nightly 132.0a1-20240908090607 / Firefox Release 130.0-20240829075237 / Chrome 128.0.6613.127

Flags: needinfo?(ctanase)

Thanks. I can't reproduce the Nightly behavior shown in your screencast (where there's extra space below the "Details on your free basic account" bar) -- but I suspect that will be fixed by bug 1912854.

And bug 1884807 is what would have fixed the issue where the button is covering up other content (the issue that was shown in the original screencast), and bug 1916002 is where that will ride-the-trains to release.

--> Marking this as depending on all those bugs. Once those are all closed, we should see if the extra-space-below-the-bar issue (the thing I can't repro) is still reproducible for you, and if so, we can look more closely into that.

Aha -- I've reproduced it now, in Nightly 2024-09-10, which happens to include the fix for bug 1912854, actually -- so the button-jumping issue in comment 2 is not fixed by bug 1912854.

The extra-space issue in comment 2 (which I can now repro per comment 4) reminds me a bit of bug 1908249 where the navbar was stealing space from content (shrinking the viewport) when the keyboard is up. This bug seems to be a case where we're similarly having trouble negotiating the toolbar's impact on the fixed-position-relevant viewport when the keyboard is up and the toolbar is fully hidden.

I spun off bug 1918178 for the extra-space issue (the issue that's remaining here, discussed in comment 2 through comment 6).
