I had failed to mention, this crash ranks #7 for * bp-be2d66c9-320d-482f-9f35-f6f3c0240809 Attempted to update Thunderbird by pressing the update button. Then it just crashed.
List of crashes with user comments:
- bp-7c669b8d-b2f7-4b8a-843d-cc1a20240806 I am constantly being prompted to login in an account that is deleted. The account does not appear in thunderbird anymore and nor does in the IOS account. I have checked and I do not have subsccribed calendars to that account. I have even restarted thunderbird and the computer to no avail.
- bp-09a7f83b-807f-427d-9000-6b14a0240729. Gmail wanted thunderbird to authenticate access to gmail using a passkey. I have a passkey for gmail. No sure why, but it seems that Thunderbird was unable to send passkey to gmail.
- bp-610e7ba8-67c7-411b-b88a-b11c10240818. It just started requesting me for some password not really knowing which one it was referring to and mentioned that its just not working.
- bp-9e06c39d-a58b-48d5-aa3b-fd97c0240814. I don’t know about this crash, because as far as I can see it hasn’t crashed (some mail has arrived while I was typing this). But ever since the update to v128 I’ve been having a problem where it hangs up (totally unresponsive, has to be force-stopped) when I connect or disconnect an external monitor (occasionally survives with an old 1080p monitor but 100% hangs with a modern WQHD widescreen). So I’ll take this opportunity to report that bug :) (TB is the only app I have this problem with)
- bp-3a49a729-6a3e-437c-976a-ffef50240812. Searched under local folder, opened one of the results, viewed all inline replies, shut each window starting from last to first, closed Thunderbird, a crash window popped up.
- bp-c733a0c5-0ea9-4de5-a07c-c9aa30240802 Just checking e-mails
- bp-c3f092cc-b22b-4f66-8233-ff86a0240608 I had accidently closed TB
- bp-14ff2640-2319-4b8a-b7e3-23c970240523 I restarted to effect an update
- bp-ba6d24da-39fe-432c-894d-b0d850240501 restarting Thunderbird daily to update
- bp-3bf1f6ad-b0eb-4e7f-a96c-a0d160240328 It keeps prompting me to sign into a gmail account that I have removed from every list and can't find listed anywhere

Likely just a different signature for one of these other shutdown long time crashes https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/search/?moz_crash_reason=~XPCOMShutdownThreads&product=Thunderbird&date=%3E%3D2024-08-11T15%3A34%3A00.000Z&date=%3C2024-08-25T15%3A34%3A00.000Z&_facets=signature&_sort=-date&_columns=date&_columns=signature&_columns=product&_columns=version&_columns=build_id&_columns=platform#facet-signature

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #0)
crashed restarting daily on Mac to update to latest daily. I can only say I know there was an outgoing message in the Outbox.
Similar situation today, but had no crashes of any kind between comment 0 and now. Same stack as before...
This was the first time running Thunderbird with MacOS 15. No problems on startup, and no failed passwords. https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/659c56e5-e4af-45e0-90fe-f28f80240923.

This must be the Mac counterpart to Windows crash bug 1524247. Will probably dupe to that. I don't have empty trash on exit, nor expunge, set for any of my accounts in server settings

Daily crash count is very flat since Oct 1, but our changing of update rates over time might skew the results.
