Found in
- 133.0a1 (2024-10-08)
Affected versions
- 133.0a1 (2024-10-08)
Tested platforms
- Affected platforms: Windows 11, Windows 10
- Unaffected platforms:macOS 12, Ubuntu
Preconditions
- Download the DLP test assets from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yjqVRuxdKV3WnO7D2wzMgDXBuYBxUgVw/view
- Create a distribution folder inside the Firefox folder and paste the policies-2.json to it and then rename it to policies.json
- run the DLP agent in CMD using: .\content_analysis_sdk_agent.exe --user --toblock=.\d{3}-?\d{2}-?\d{4}. --towarn=.warn. --delays=10
- A folder created with a good and a warning file
Steps to reproduce
- Open https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/HTMLInputElement/webkitdirectory
- Drag and drop the folder from the preconditions over the Browser button from the Examples section.
- Select the
Use content
option.
Expected result
- Files are uploaded.
Actual result
- The files are not uploaded.
Regression range
- This happens after drag and drop was fixed when dropping folders but it did not work before (bug 1919752).
Additional notes
- Attached a screen recording.
- In bug 1919752#c11 Greg mentioned that the file upload does not happen if we click somewhere on the page while the scan is in progress. Adding this note here even if I can’t reproduce that.

:handyman, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1919752, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

OK, not sure what's going on but I can no longer reproduce the behavior where clicking somewhere on the page while the scan is in progress makes the file upload not happen. So I think it's safe to ignore that.

This bug will happen for any multi-file case that requires interaction (so, any with a WARN result). I'm not completely clear on why we are getting the WARN response instead of getting the response to the WARN response that should be sent by ContentAnalysis.sys.mjs
.

I can no longer reproduce this issue with Firefox 133.0a1 (2024-10-24). This may have been reproduced before because of the folder name (warn
) but after bug 1915351 it seems that we are hitting bug 1927099. Closing this.
