The current flow both in production and account hub is very confusing if the config fails to be found the host is parsed out but made invalid by adding a leading . but with out telling the user anything. This is to force the user to update the config to be valid and test before continuing however in production you with the right combo of other settings can still save the now both not working and invalid host name and save the account. In account hub you can't even see the test button until the outgoing step so you can still continue with not working config but not know until the next step all it ensures in theory is that something was edited.
This flow needs to be re thought to be more user friendly. Maybe don't populate the incoming form at all.

I'd also suggest that we offer the manual config option as soon as the user enters a valid email address (similar to the old approach). There are instances where it's just not possible or worth trying to detect.
It's also not possible to choose to configure an EWS account manually.

These are two separate issues. I would extrapolate these into two more bugs, one for allowing for manual configuration in the first screen, and the next for allowing selecting EWS in manual configuration.

Yes I think it may become a meta with multiple subtasks once we get the flow redesigned.
