Like bug 1692873 this needs a release note for developers. Something like: "WebRTC simulcast is now supported with AV1 video."

It seems like jitsi has moved to AV1 and does negotiate simulcast for it in Firefox when hooked up to their SFU (which happens on meet.jit.si when a room has >2 participants).

This is enabled for AV1 when AV1 is enabled for WebRTC. But AV1 is held to nightly, see bug 1944878.
