After bug 581863 there's rendering artifact when main window is resized down.

:emilio, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 581863, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

For more information, please visit BugBot documentation.

Flags: needinfo?(emilio)

Hmm, interesting. Just to check, with "artifacts" you mean transparent seams (visible near the right titlebar corner in particular)?

If so:

  • I think I repro this in GNOME, but not in Plasma/KDE.
  • I think bug 581863 did cause the resize to happen sooner (which would explain this), but these artifacts also happened before my patch (specially when resizing up), right? (tested with mozregression --launch 136). So bug 581863 made resizing down slightly worse, but resizing up slightly better...

Do you know off-hand what triggers the painting of the window decorations on wayland? I'm guessing we want to synchronize with that (or suppress them and draw them on our own I guess).

Flags: needinfo?(emilio) → needinfo?(stransky)

Set release status flags based on info from the regressing bug 581863

Attached video what it looks like

It looks like different browser parts are resized by different speed so during resize there are browser elements painted over Gtk window border. It's most visible on hamburger menu.

Flags: needinfo?(stransky)

:stransky too late for 142, but do you know the severity of this so we can properly track this regression?

Flags: needinfo?(stransky)

S4, minor cosmetic issue.

Severity: -- → S4
Flags: needinfo?(stransky)

Would rounded-window-corner glitchiness fit under this issue or should I open another? The 142 beta seems to break it completely.

File a new one please.
Thanks.

Additionally, I encountered the same issue in the nightly.

My apologies. Did not realize it would do that. Will be more careful in the future.
