Thunderbird frequently resets my "Save copy to:" and "Save drafts to:" settings from IMAP back to Local Folder.
I don't know what's triggering this behaviour, but everytime when I send a new e-mail, its getting stored in the local Sent folder. When I then check my account settings, these settings are set back to "Local Folder" although I selected my IMAP just minutes before.
When you set to use the relevant folders in the imap account, did you choose this option : 'Anderer Ordner' and eg: 'Sent in imap account' ?
Did you restart Thunderbird after altering all the Sent, Archives, Drafts, Templates and Junk settings to use 'Anderer Ordner' ?
If no, then please try it and report back on results.
@Anje,
thank you for your valuable hint. I set these items to "Different Folder" and these settings seem to persist now.
Yet, shouldn't the other setting work as expected, though? Or is this behaviour by intention?

This seems inconsistent with the way "Junk" setting work. Re: Bug 1985372.
