198216 - When clicking outside entered test in the URL bar, Mozilla does not mark the entire URL string

If you have surfed to eg. http://www.foo.com/ and then press on the URL bar,
outside the URL, the URL is not selected.

You have to click on the URL directly for Mozilla to mark it (and thus, be able
to  delete it with at single keystroke)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter an URL in the URL bar, and press enter
2. Click on the URL bar, outside of the entered URL


Actual Results:  
Mozilla does not select the entire URL

Expected Results:  
Mozilla should select the entire URL (at least, it has up till 1.3)

I hate to say it, but this is by design - see bug 198216.

Oops - sorry, that bug was Mac specific.  Reopening.

bug 198216 is THIS bug, and filed on WInXP.

Reporter: You can make clicking anywhere in urlbar select on one click by adding
this pref:

user_pref("browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll", true);

As of yesterday, clicking the proxy icon once will also select all.

Resolving as dupliacte of bug 185769.
