Steps to reproduce:

I got this issue trying to use TB feature, after having ADD-ON for year!

-> take care because the indicator for the intended position is very small and there is a fast response as well

Solved this way:
Move near the intended position...

• probably a subfolder list will open
• keep the mouse pressed and move the pointer over the mails list
• wait few seconds ... the subfolder will close again
  -> now re-enter sidewise in the exact position you intend for you moved folder

------------------------> !!WRONG!!
...and learn the exact position as TB intend it !

( sorry I'm not good for a Screen-Recorded session - Have to learn that )

W10 full updated ... in both Main-PC and BKP-PC TB versions 139, 140, 141 act the same way

Expected results:

When moving folders a big blue indicator Should Appear
( that was said by Itagaki in forum - with the request to open a bug )

in page 15 I'm followed by ITAGAKI the programmer with all the tests suggested by him ( comprising the troubleshooting mode )

If you need me ... I'm a good tester ... just let me know.

No one, myself included, has probably been able to reproduce it.
Can you try one of the following?

• Install TB on another PC and see if it works.
• Record a video of the problem from the start of TB.

While this is fine on Linux, I can reproduce this with Thunderbird Beta 143 on Windows. Don't know about Mac. Hopefully this will be fixed by bug 1957486.

Oh wow, thanks for adding me to this, I missed it.
Definitely I'm solving this problem for good in bug 1957486, it's almost done, sorry for the delay but I've been having issues with some tests.
Tentatively marking this as duplicate of bug 1957486, I'll share some screenshots there.

You can download a daily release tomorrow and test it.
It will be available in version 144 if you're using our monthly release channel.
I'm uploading a screenshot to the other bug for visual reference.
