Bug 154892 introduced the initial implementation of abspos (absolutely positioned) frame fragmentation. However, an abspos frame currently splits correctly only when it is positioned in the first fragmentainer (page/column).

This meta bug tracks the work related to implement correct abspos fragmentation.
