Bring the sidebar animation in Nova up to spec and explore better methods of implementation.
- Spec: https://www.figma.com/design/XT0eDYh4RtbMNWaYQi0efM/Chrome-Sidebar-UX-Specifications--Sprint-1-?node-id=12735-37967&p=f&m=dev
- It was also suggested that we could use CSS view transitions to drive the animations in place of the current solution (using clip paths).
- Open question: the spec specifies that the content area itself should animate in and out when the sidebar changes. How can this be implemented in a performant way (i.e. without causing a huge number of repaints of the content area)?
