Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030503 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 The Firebird menubar doesn't contain a Windows menu with list of all open windows (open or not), which exists in mozilla (not just the Mac-version, but all versions). Also, the Mac-specific menu-items (the Zoom, Minimize and Brind All To Front menus) are not present.
Summary: No Windows Menu in Firefird → No Windows Menu in Firebird
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030527 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 I could care less and actually advocate against a Window menu item for Firebird as found in Mozilla since at the current state Firebird has in contrast to Mozilla very few menu items which only adds to 5 stars in simplicity of Firebird. I do however in keeping to this bug ask that the ability to to bring a (new) window from behind one or more windows to the foreground. Granted in Mozilla it'd be Window-> and the web page window you wanted or you could use command and a number (1, 2, etc, etc) I say go with the latter bring back the ability to use the keyboard and it's command keys to jump to pages behind one another and also add as a submenu item to the Go menu item the ability to see other window pages on the bottom of that menu item such similiar to Mozilla's Window menu item.
Whether you like it or not, *all* Mac OS X applications have a Windows menu, which is used for 'Zoom Window', 'Minimize Window', 'Bring All to Front' and a list of open windows. Don't confuse it with the Mozilla-version, which is in violation with the Apple guidelines ( http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Essentials/AquaHIGuidelines/index.html ). There are several bugs filed for Mozilla about that : bug 90824, bug 75546, bug 202343, ... I don't care if the menu will be implemented on other platforms (although I would like to see it), but it's a must for Mac. (One wonders why OS X doesn't generate this menu itself, instead of risking inconsistency by making the app do it, but anyway ...)
I do not insist on a Window menu but the possibility to list and switch between firebird windows is missing.

Then why did someone close it out seeing how the last current nightly dates back to 7/15. It or any bug for all that really shouldn't be closed out as resolved/fixed until one gets a chance to see the correction in a new nightly.
No, actually, it should be marked as RESOLVED FIXED, so people know to start looking for it in the nightlies. Once it appears in the nightlies, the QA contact will mark the bug as VERIFIED. After that I believe that once the fix appears in a milestone build, then the bug is marked CLOSED.
Paul, in the outset thank you for your post in Comment #7 "once it appears in the nightlies, the QA contact will mark the bug as VERIFIED." That's the part I'm hell bent over, this bug has to do with the Mac OS X and although the Windows version of Firebird keeps getting nightlies within a day or once everyday. The Apple Mac OS X version has stalled with the July 15th (http://ftp27f.newaol.com/pub/firebird/nightly/latest-trunk/) nightly being the last posted one available to download. I see this bug marked Resolved and see that no nightly has been released for the OS and platform it was opened for begs to wonder if it was marked fixed just cause it was corrected in the windows version of Firebird if so there's really nothing corrected as it relates to the mac OS X version. I personally am fine with opening bug reports but I'd expect to see a nightly [noting of course no guarantee that a nightly comes out each night and can go days without a new one] before the bug is deemed resolved, seems premature to call it resolved or if one closes a Mac OS X bug only because it was corrected in the Windows nightly seems pretty messed up that an Apple owner reports a bug and they with their OS version don't get to see the issue corrected. If it has been corrected in the windows version, at this point I'm content with waiting for 0.7's milestone build of the Mac OS X version of Firebird. But in any case thanks a lot once more for your post and all the best to you [and all]
I would be willing to bet that whatever Hyatt checked in, has to do with only Mac OS X if not all platforms, seeing as how Hyatt is 1) a Mac developer, 2) employed by Apple, 3) is the lead developer for Webcore (the rendering engine in Safari). Just to clear up any confusion. :-) But I do have to agree with you that it's pretty lame that the last Mac OS X nightly of Firebird is dated all the way back to July 15th. Lame indeed.
Ray, rant comments are not appropriate in Bugzilla. This is a tool used by the development and testing contributors to coordinate development and testing activity. Advocacy comments and other non-technical ranting are not allowed. The only thing your comment accomplished was sending worthless bugmail spam to a few people (including me as QA Contact). Bugzilla comments are supposed to add value to a bug. Your comment didn't. Just because you can comment in a bug doesn't mean that you should. Comments like yours belong to the Newsgroups/IRC. Please email me if you have any questions. So and to settle this once and for all: 1. This is a MacOS X only bug, so one can assume when a fix is checked in, that it will apply on MacOS X and not on any other platform. 2. Once a fix is checked in, a bug is RESOLVED. That's how it works. 3. Once it shows up in the nightlies I will wait for some people confirming that this has been fixed for real, then I or other people with the privileges will verify it. 4. The CLOSED option is deprecated and shouldn't be used. 5. I know it's unfortunate that there are no current nightly builds, but rest assured that the powers behind Firebird development know of this and are working on it. Please also note, that daily testing builds are pure luxury, which most other Open Source projects do not have. 6. End of topic.
We have a new nightly - Mozilla Thunderbird 0.2a (20030808) - but the window menu wasn't (yet) present in that one. No complaint, just a observation. Everybody is working hard to prepare a 0.2 build. Mac OS X 10.2.6
Jo, this bug is about Mozilla Firebird. Please take your opinions and sightings regarding Thunderbird to the corresponding Thunderbird bugs or to the forums. I filed bug 215621 for that issue on Thunderbird.
Sorry, you're right. I was comparing the latest Thunderbird and Firebird, and managed to file the wrong bug in the wrong location (Thunderbird was updated, but Firebird wasn't). Pretty confusing with all these *birds. Too many birds, too few stones ... eh hands ... ;-) (and I'm a bug-triager on seamonkey for years, I know the drill)

Fixes for Mac OS X only bugs should be verified from people using that OS.

Verified with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030816 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1+ from http://smartasfuck.com/mozilla/
Maybe I was a little to quick to verify it. But is the Zoom, minimize and bring all to front menu alteratives supposed to be a part of this bug or that other bugs. The window menu is there and you can switch between windows, but the other alternatives are greyed out.
