Current CVS build, MacOS 10.2.6. Visit the above URL and note that the browser
is taking nearly 100% CPU while the page is visible. Sampler output seems to
implicate something going on in the plugin code (log coming up).

Mac OS X 10.3.5, Camino 2004101408 (v0.8+), My cpu tops out at 50-60% while the flash file is
playing and then back to normal. Might not be a perfect example since the flash file only plays for a few
seconds and then stops. But sites like http://www.anim-fx.com/ cycle the cpu at 30% non-stop.

Yes, I see 60 to 80% CPU with Firefox 3.0b2 + Flash 9.0.115 on MacOSX 10.5.1.
Then again, I see the same CPU peak on Windows XPSP2 + Firefox 2.0.11 + Flash 9.0.115.
It's likely to be a badly coded Flash applet...
The Flash prompt about high CPU usage usually keeps getting in my face enough to make it hard to close or reload the page, but this time on last.fm it only appeared once, after i restored from hibernate, and now my 17 Firefox 3.0.1 windows aren't responding.
It would help if a plugin runs in its own thread so it won't block the main thread. I don't think the issue described at http://groups.google.tt/group/DotNetDevelopment/browse_thread/thread/0fc9d59c82092571/9489d1ed8d7a5faf?lnk=raot should happen between threads.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3) Gecko/20090305 Firefox/3.1b3
Firefox on my 2.6 GHz CPU system that's up to 40% idle:
- Normal load: 30-60%
- With Flash visible: 36-90%, 80-90% during fade.
No skips in Foobar nor any loss in UI responsiveness AFAIK.

Sorry, that was with Flash 9,0,124,0. Adobe updater doesn't appear to be running.

Flash 10,0,22,87 on IE8 only makes it use up to 94.44% CPU while fading in view.
A few hours later in Firefox 3.1b3 (restored 56 tabs in 7 windows session)...
Try this testcase, find that IE8 processes are using all available CPU and 2.14 GB RAM on this 1 GB RAM system, but Firefox process only peaks at 67%.
Rightclick Flash Player 10, About..., the new page kept loading the plugin. Slowness alert: Script: chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:2810
Alert: A script on this page has been stopped due to a low memory condition.

Flash 10,0,22,87 on MacOS 10.4.11/PPC causes firefox to use 50-60% cpu
when displaying a few flash ads on a webpage.
it also makes youtube, dailymotion etc. vidoes unwatchable on my imac G5 & ibook G4.
-playback is about 2fps and the audio skips. cpu usage by firefox is 85-90%
ie. all avalible cpu.
happens with all browsers but is worst in firefox.
-Firefox 3.0.11
