I created a mozdev project, http://sync.mozdev.org/ There is some code, but no packages. If anyone is good at creating xpi's... :)
Frankly, the sync with PalmOS can wait -- let's get Import from PalmOS working first.
Disagree with Jofish: If we get sync working right - then there's no need for the import...

I also disagree. I'd need export to Palm more than import from it.

What about taking code from jpilot or kpilot for this? I've emailed with the jpilot maintainer, Judd Montgomery, and he's in favor of this. (He just doesn't have the time.) Jpilot's been around for several years and, in my experience, is quite stable.

(In reply to comment #5) > Frankly, the sync with PalmOS can wait -- let's get Import from PalmOS working > first. at least with sunbird 0.2 and MacOSX Palm sync was already available (also with a lot of mobile phones) but was removed in 0.3. It was done through iSync and ICal (have sunbird open the ICal Database) now open calendar does nothing and importing the ical Database crashes ....

bug 210507 is sync with palm calendar (this bug) bug 28040 is sync with palm address books (mentioned in comment 1) bug 176730 is sync with palm to-do lists Also of interest is bug 121948 (SyncML), which may solve all three of the above (though it appears that PalmOS requires pay service fusionOne to use it).

This bug just got flagged helpwanted. I think its momentum should be thrown towards bug 303963 (OpenSync support) instead, as OpenSync supports Palm, Windows CE, SyncML, and a zillion other things as noted in my comment there. Also important to note is bug 303963 comment 9, which postulates that Thunderbird syncing (and given the tb3 path, this includes calendar syncing) won't be really investigated until Thunderbird 4 or so. That comment has no sources and might be wild speculation. It may also be invalidated by third-party work, which might make such incorporation trivial enough to consider for tb3 given how early it is in the release process.
