In composition options I have chosen "Forward messages inline,"  I have checked
"Automatically quote the original message when replying," and I have selected to
"start my reply above the quoted text."  My signature, however, appears at the
end of the message, after the quoted text.

It might be slightly better if it appeared at the top, above inline quoted text.
 Some people might not want this, so alternatively you might want to have an
option under Account settings that causes the signature to be omitted when
replying or forwarding.

I see there has been a lot of discussion about this issue.  A lot of people
would like it changed, or at least an option added.  But what about the
alternative suggestion: an option under Account settings that causes the
signature to be omitted when replying or forwarding.  Lots of mail clients do
this to prevent signatures from popping up constantly in threads.

The main part of the bug, the first issue Ed mentions, actually is bug 62429.
The second issue he brings up about adding an option not to include the
signature on replying or forwarding is now in his bug 214763, a spinoff of bug
62424 comment 274, as he was told to create.

This technically might be a duplicate of both, but since the summary and his
main point appear to be the signature after forwarded text, I'll just stick with
remarking it a duplicate of bug 62429 as Scott did.
