Saw this on all platforms in Composer for Build 1999-12-28-08 M12
Steps to reproduce:
1)Launch Seamonkey. When Mozilla Comes up, select Tasks-->Composer
2)Type some text in the New compose window which appears. Now select the text
and pull down the "Normal" field in the toolbar to see it's selections.
Actual Results: You will see the sidebar graphics in the pulldown menu. If you
collapse the sidebar, you will see the text you just typed in Compose in the
pull down. The same occurs for the "Variable width" pull down field menu.
I also see the same behavior in Mail, for the New Account pull down menus used
to select the Mail server type. (i.e. Imap or POP)
Expected results: Normal, Paragraph, Heading 1,2, and 3 etc menu options should
be in the first pull down menu in Composer.
This affects Aim in Compose pull down menu fields also.
It no longer occurs in Mail account setup. (build 2000-01-03-09 M13)

still see this on windows, assigning to cmanske
I see this was originally reported for NT (I don't see this on my NT machine),
but I see it on linux rh6.0 (unless it was reported separately for linux?) and
it is really annoying in the mail window.
The transparency of the pulldown menu background is evident also in browser
(menus get navigational button icons) and the mail window in general (pulldowns
get any server or folder icons from folder pane, pulldowns not over folderpane
will get toolbar button icons).
Just a reminder when this is fixed for mailnewsqa to check various mail window
areas.
I see no Targert Fix Milestone is set -- this is pretty annoying in mail window.
Can we get this fixed for beta?
To clarify my last comments: I'm referring to menu and submenu items, not
necessarily dropdown lists/combo boxes. So this may indeed be a separate issue
(need advice here). What I see on linux is this:
1. Go to mail.
2. Expand an account hierarch (to make for more icons in siderbar/folder pane).
3. Access File menu.
File menu opens/drops and displays folder icons within the menu; menu's
background is not opaque.
4. Still in mail window: Access Help menu.
Help menu opens and shows some of the toolbar button icons showing through;
menu's background is not opaque.
5. Go to browser window: Access View menu.
View menu opens and shows toolbar's navigational buttons showing through;
menu's background in not opaque.
Laurels issue is an issue which depends (i believe) on Bugzilla
