Add'l comments: I tried the testcase with other GIFs and PNGs right out of GIMP, and they tiled fine. So maybe it's an ImageLib problem, like the dimensions aren't set right or something. CC pnunn. All three duplicate bugs were reported on Linux, and one was marked pp. May be linux specific. All reported cases of this happening were with GIFs. May be a problem with transparency.
this really looks a lot like bug 16008. please check it out.
Marking as duplicate of 16008. I know this one is more specific about the problem, but 16008 has been around longer. Feel free to dispute this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 16008 ***
