User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031205) If you create a folder in the local folders and name it something like "Bob" and put a piece of mail in it, then rename the folder to " Bob" (space Bob) and then rename to anything else like "aBob" the mail in the folder disappears. The mail will return to the folder if you restart the program. While replicating the problem there seems to be a few other problems w folders and having them start with a space, for instance I had one that would not delete unless you renamed it and then deleted it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a folder in the local folders and name it something like "Bob" 2.put a piece of mail in it 3.rename the folder to " Bob" (space Bob) 4.then rename to anything else like "aBob" the mail in the folder disappears Actual Results: mail disappeared until I restarted the program Expected Results: shown the mail at all times
This bug is a duplicate of 238742.
Tested on 20040907-trunk nightly. I thought maybe this might be a duplicate of 89986, but I don't get any of the JavaScript exceptions that that bug has. Instead, sometimes I get this one: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80550013 [nsIMessenger.RenameFolder]" nsresult: "0x80550013 (<unknown>)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/widgetglue.js :: RenameFolder :: line 74" data: no] I say sometimes because I can't seem to get it to do that everytime. I've also noticed that sometimes I restart Thunderbird to find " Bob" AND "aBob" with "aBob" having the mail I copied in and " Bob" having nothing. I'll work on coming up with a better test routine...

I'm not going to open a new bug because I believe my issues is related to this bug report where renaming the folder is not changing the filename of the folder. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a folder in the local folders and name it something like "Bob" 2. Rename the folder to "ANYTHING" (Doesn't matter what you call it) 3. Try to create a new folder called "Bob". Actual Results: Says the folder "Bob" already exists. Expected Results: Create a new folder called "Bob".
My problem appears to be related to this one, so I'll file my comments here. Very reproducible Steps: 1. create a new Saved Search folder 2. rename Saved Search folder All criteria of that saved search folder will disappear

Marking WFM as I could not reproduce any the issues described in the bug.
