Build 2000010509M13: NT4, Linux 6.0, Mac 8.5.1

Overview: This problem is mentioned in bug# 23164 by buono@bellatlantic.net.
A white space appears after the column widget.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In the main mail window (aka 3-pane) click on the column widget which appears
to the right of the "Total" column. It should display a list of available
columns (Thread, Subject, Sender...)
2. In the column widget deselect one of the options such as "Thread". The
checkmark should be removed from the Thread option.

Actual Results: Notice that the Thread column is removed but now a white space
appears after the column widget. If the "Subject" column is removed then the
white space appears wider because the Subject column is typically wider than the
Thread column.

Expected Results: After removing a column with the Column Widget, the column
headers should resize so that extra white space does not appear after the
widget.

*** Bug 24964 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Fixed. Verify using the threadPane. Does not work in bookmarks because of bad
XUL. A bug should be opened against slamm to fix the bookmarks XUL to support
show/hide of columns.

OK for mailnews thread pane columns, no whitespace when adding/removing columns.
Using:
2000-02-15-09m14 commercial build mac OS 9.0
2000-02-15-09m14 mozilla build linux rh6.0
2000-02-15-09m14 commercial build NT 4.0

I believe the bug for bookmarks which hyatt referred to for logging against
slamm may be bug #26876.
