I am just trying to install nightly build 20040219 and the installation always crashes with this info: AppName: setup.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.2 ModName: xpinstal.dll ModVer: 1.7.20040.21823 Offset: 0000c810 The setup shows this info when it crashes: Currently installing Mail & Newsgroups Preparing file: emitter.dll
Well by works correctly I mean installs without a crash. Becase I can't get it to run at all after install. So the build that installs and runs is: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/2004-02-17-09-trunk/mozilla-win32-installer.exe

Confirming observations made by reporter. The 20040219 installer crashes regardless of install type (full/minimal/custom). See also bug 234916 ((Firefox) install crashes before finishing)

That last bug reference bug should have been bug 234976.
Argh... when I browsed the last couple days worth of bugs looking for this, I was searching at severity 'blocker' and 'critical'. Bug I'm duping to currently has severity 'normal' . *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 234804 ***

(In reply to comment #8) > *** Bug 235080 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** ok.. I'm getting a bit frustrated here, does anyone have a solution to this bug? I posted on the win32 2-19 release.. now were at the 2-24 release and yet the installer does the same thing as previous versions.. how can we test anything if we can't get it installed.. thanks
