a feature which is especially important for imap servers, where the trash folder
is not named "trash". web.de for example calls it 'papierkorb' but thunderbild
is not able to use a different folder than 'trash' for trash.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
delete mail on imap server where trash folder is not named trash
Actual Results:
folder 'trash' is being created and you cannot make thunderbird use a different
one for trash

Actually there is a pref for it, I have:
user_pref("mail.server.server1.trash_folder_name", "Gel&APY-scht");
in my user.js for my German IMAP account. As is obvious, configuring this get's
even worse for non-ascii folder names. I did it by setting that folder as
templates folder, looking in prefs.js, and adding the above to user.js

Bug 253309 also appears related (the ability to specify where and what the name
of the trash folder is). There is also a bug 182274 which is supposed to add
the ability to specify this into the UI.
I agree that this should be tagged as a duplicate of bug 222798.
