User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040625 Firefox/0.8.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040625 Firefox/0.8.0+
It's merely on the File -> Import... from the new Migration Engine.
It works as expected using File -> Import... in Bookmarks Manager.
I see some of the characters in the name or URL of IE favorites do not imported
too, but which needs investigating and does not block 1.0 releases IMO.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import the bookmark.htm(only 1 here) attached to IE.
2. File -> Import from Firefox (Migration Engine).
3. select Internet Explorer, click Next.
4. Import the favorites.
5. The bookmarks should have imported.
6. View the properties of that bookmark.
7. The URL of the bookmark does not imported.

no, bug 248086 is for Chinese "Name", which is WFM.
This bug is for Chinese "URL".

Actually I think this is not a bug specific to the chinese or japanese character
sets. I had a similar problem when I imported bookmarks on a
japanese version of windows. Bookmarks containing Icelandic or other
non-english, non-japanese characters did not import.
So the problem is most likely that the import filestream is reading the
favorites folders using the default local codepage instead of using unicode
which it should use when importin on Windows NT platforms or above. Perhaps
someone working with the code could confirm this.
