255085 - favicon does not update if URL redirects before setting favicon

Description

If you bookmark a site URL, such as http://www.zonelabs.com/ or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/, it will not get a favicon associated with the
bookmark, because the site redirects to another URL before setting a favicon --
and the other URL does not match what is bookmarked.

The workaround is to bookmark the actual page that you end up at, instead of
creating the bookmark manually (i.e. visit www.zonelabs.com and then Bookmark
This Page, which gives you http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp).

Fixing this probably depends on bug 213467 also getting fixed.

If you set the favicon to that of the main page it should fix the problem of
pages from other domains in a frame of iframe changing the favicon too.
There is a bug # for it but I can't find it.

This one has been bugging me for a while. A few more test cases:

1. http://dailynews.yahoo.com/headlines/ts/ which redirects to
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=index&cid=716&/ (for the moment)

2. http://www.anchordesk.com/ which redirects to
http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/2001-6033_16-0.html

3. http://www.news.com which redirects to http://news.com.com/

Hardly a show stopping issue, but a pet peeve of mine.

This works for me in 3.1 nightlies.  I added facebook.com in the library, which ended up with the wrong icon, but when I re-opened the library (after loading the bookmark), it had the right icon.

Sorry to bump an oldly but this is still occurring on ff 22 and 24. Any updates fixing the issue?
