User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a3) Gecko/20040830 Firefox/0.9.1+ Build Identifier: version 0.7+ (20040831) When I receive mails with an attached word document, opening the attachment starts word as the topmost app, but then thunderbird comes back in front. Since my goal is to view the attachment, this is not the expected behavior. This happens when I have TB ask me how to open the attachment (the dialog "you have chosen to open <file>, What should Thunderbird do with this file? Open with <app>, save to disk, Do this automatically for files like this from now on") If I tell TB to "do this automatically for files like this from now on", TB no longer becomes the topmost application after launching word, Word stays in front as expected. As soon as I remove the automatic opening with word, the problem comes back. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. doubleclick or rightclick->open a .doc attachment 2 [review]. TB shows the "Opening <file>" dialog 3. select "open with Word" 4. Word opens as the topmost app and loads the file 5. Suddenly TB becomes the topmost app again <-- wrong! Windows XP Pro SP1 or SP2 Thunderbird milestone builds and nightly builds Word 2002 (currently SP3)

It's a really annoying bug. IMO this has to be a regression because I'm sure that I didn't noticed it in former times (perhaps seeing this since 0.8).

Regression appears somewhere between the TB 0.7.3 and TB 0.8 release. Currently I didn't have any nightly build within this period.
Keywords: regression
For me it's not "sometimes" but rather "always". This detracts from the polished feel of the app.
