Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird version 0.8 (20040913) K9 e-mail filtering program marks spam mail with "[Spam]" in the subject line. Thunderbird mail filter is programmed to filter and mark any mail with "[Spam]" in the subject line as junk, and move it to the Junk folder. The mail is correctly moved to the Junk folder but will not be marked it as Junk. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Program mail filter to set junk status on an e-mail with some identifing data. 2.Also program it to move it to the Junk folder 3. Actual Results: Moves the offending e-mail to the junk folder but will not set it as Junk status. Expected Results: Moved the mail to the junk folder and then it should Mark the mail as Junk, Version 0.7.3 worked correctly, version 0.8 fails
Does this problem apply for mail that is arriving, or only when you execute the filter manually (from the Message Filter dialog's Run Now button, or the menu Run Filters on Folder)? if the latter, this is a dupe of bug 244374.
confirming same symptoms with thunderbird Version 0.8 (20040913) on Linux, no obvious pattern when junk status is lost and when not; remember similar behaviour in 7.3; remark: messages that already have their status set don't loose it, seems as if keep/loose is determined on a per retrieve base (fails to set status when new mail is moved to junk folder) request: set OS to all request: set status to NEW
No response from reporter, duping. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 244374 ***
