I'd like to confirm this bug. It's been a problem under mozilla as well. Affects Bookmarks menu even more severely, frankly I'm amazed it's made it this far.

I can't confirm this with the current aviary nightly build from 20041002 on W2K.
This bug doesn't seem to exist on windows XP but it exists on linux.
I think this is a duplicate of bug 251729 (which only speaks of the Bookmarks menu, but I don't think there are any good reasons to keep a separate bug for the Bookmarks menu).

I was seeing this in Firefox 1.0 and Thunderbird 0.9, but it now seems to be working in both using the Feb 24th nightlies. Is anyone still seeing it with a recent nightly? Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050224 Firefox/1.0+

I can reproduce it on Firefox 1.0.3. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050421 Firefox/1.0.3 (Debian package 1.0.3-2) Not a really enormous bug, but it is veeerry annoying, especially on bookmarks. _FrnchFrgg_

In fact, the newly selected menu looses focus when the old submenu closes, when the timer expires. _FrnchFrgg_

Closing as WFM, please reopen if it's still an issue with recent builds.
